Momcozy V1 Pro Review

I was sent the Momcozy V1 Pro breast pump by Momcozy to try out, and right away, I could tell it’s a serious upgrade from the Momcozy V1. It’s hospital grade strength, with some pretty unique design upgrades, like adjustable pumping frequency levels and a spacious, teardrop-shaped collection cup.

But did these new features really make a difference? And what else does the Momcozy V1 Pro bring to the table?

My Momcozy V1 Pro Review

The Momcozy V1 Pro may share some similarities to the original Momcozy V1, but it’s definitely a different experience. And for me, it offers a bunch of additional features that make it a real stand out.

While I’m excited about some of the V1 Pro’s unique aspects, like its hospital-grade suction and ultra-lightweight collection cups, there are a few things you might want to consider before deciding if this is the Momcozy pump for you.

So, let’s dive in and take a closer look at everything the Momcozy V1 Pro has to offer!

What I Love About the Momcozy V1 Pro Pump

When I review a breast pump, I look at several factors: design, suction strength, battery life, comfort, portability, user-friendliness, and price. Plus, any standout features that might make it a perfect fit or a deal breaker.

For the Momcozy V1 Pro, the highlight for me is the control it gives with your pumping session. This pump features hospital-grade suction with up to 300mmHg suction strength, 3 modes, and a huge 15 suction levels which I think provides plenty of room to customize your session to your comfort. But it doesn’t stop there! The Momcozy V1 Pro also lets you adjust the number of suction cycles per minute, which is a feature I haven’t seen on other Momcozy breast pumps.

In terms of design, the V1 Pro has upgraded, lightweight collection cups, which fit discreetly and comfortably inside a bra. Even though they are slimline and discreet, they can hold over 7oz!

I think the 270 minutes of run time off a single charge is really impressive. That’s 9 x 30 mins pumping sessions off a single charge!

You’ll also find Momcozy’s signature DoubleFit™ flange, a convenient LED screen with timer, and a quiet 48dB motor for a more discreet pumping experience.

My favorite part, though, is the adjustable timer that allows you to set sessions as short as 5 minutes or as long as 30.

But there’s more to the Momcozy V1 Pro’s performance and features, so let’s look at the other key pros and cons of this unique breast pump. If you’re comparing the Momcozy V series pump models, you may also like my Momcozy V1 Pro vs V2 Pro review!

Performance and Efficiency

There is no denying that the Momcozy V1 Pro breast pump packs a punch in the performance department, with its hospital-grade suction strength of up to 300mmHg.

But better yet, it comes with the ability to customize your pumping experience which I think is rarely seen on portable breast pumps.

Firstly, you can choose between three modes: stimulation, expression, and mixed mode. The stimulation mode helps trigger letdown, the expression mode focuses on milk extraction, and the mixed mode combines both for a more customized pumping experience.

Then you have 15 adjustable suction levels so you can fine-tune your pumping intensity for both comfort and efficiency.

Next you have the 3 pumping frequency levels which is a major standout factor for me! These 3 levels allow you to tailor the number of pumping cycles per minute to suit your needs. There is a low, medium, and high option, with the high option leading to an increase of pumping cycles in a single minute.

And if you’re looking to adjust your pumping experience even more, you’re sure to love the adjustable timer as much as I do. The adjustable timer lets you set a timer for your sessions from as short as 5 minutes up to 30 minutes. You basically pick the amount of time you want to pump for, then once the counter has finished your pump will turn itself off. So, no more watching the clock!

Design

Whilst the motor unit looks very similar to the original Momcozy V1, the collection cups have certainly received an upgrade.

I really love the newer sleek tear-drop design of the Momcozy V1 Pro. The collection cups are smaller, yet still old a huge 7oz. They also weigh just 130g per cup, so are super lightweight.

And best yet, they have very minimal parts to them thanks to the integrated design. For example, the diaphragm is integrated with the collection cup, so you do not need to remove it for cleaning and leads to less risk of leaks due to incorrect fitting.

The Momcozy V1 Pro is also suitable for single or double pumping with the quick change out of the tubing which is included in your pack.

I’ll be honest — I don’t think the Momcozy V1 Pro is as discreet as an all-in-one design like the Momcozy M5, since it uses tubing and a separate motor. That said, this setup can be a real advantage for moms with back issues, as you’re not carrying the weight of the motor directly on your chest. Whether you prefer an all-in-one or a separate motor really comes down to personal preference. Comfort

Now you may have heard me say this before, but one thing I love about Momcozy is that they really prioritize comfort in their breast pumps, and the V1 Pro is no exception.

One of my favorite features is the Momcozy DoubleFit™ Flange. This cushioned design not only fits snugly around the breast for added support but also helps create a secure seal for effective suction.

The Momcozy V1 Pro consists of a hard silicone flange that is covered with a soft silicone flange cushion.

The default flange size is 24mm, but Momcozy also includes additional 17mm, 19mm, and 21mm flange inserts so you can find the size that fits best. They also provide a nipple size chart to make it even easier to get the right fit.

At only 130 grams per collection cup, the Momcozy V1 Pro is lightweight enough to wear comfortably for extended periods, which is perfect if you’re juggling other tasks while pumping.

Noise Levels

The Momcozy V1 Pro has a noise level of 48dB. Whilst this isn’t silent, I think it is quiet enough to provide a discreet pumping experience, especially if there is a little bit of background noise.

User-Friendliness

For me, a little bit of technology goes a long way when it comes to a breast pump.

Whilst the Momcozy V1 Pro does not connect with the Momcozy app, at this stage it is only the Momcozy M9, it does come with some advance features that make the V1 Pro very user-friendly.

Firstly, you have the large LED screen that bright and easy to read. Switching between modes and adjusting suction levels is simple, with clearly labeled buttons that respond quickly.

The lights also automatically turn off after 10 seconds of inactivity for discretion, which I love for nighttime pumping!

And then you have my favorite part the timer! I love an inbuilt timer, but this is next level. The Momcozy V1 Pro comes with an adjustable timer that allows you to set sessions as short as 5 minutes or as long as 30 with just the press of a button.

Portability

The Momcozy V1 Pro has certainly been designed with portability in mind!

It comes with a huge 270-minute battery life off a single charge. That is 9 x 30-minute pumping sessions! In comparison the Momcozy M5 only has a battery life up to 120-minutes off a single charge.

Charging is via USB-C and takes 2 hours to reach full charge. I love that it is USB charges as you can easily find compatible charging cables and adapters, adding to the pump’s portability and convenience.

Value for Money

The Momcozy V1 Pro is one of the more premium options in the Momcozy range, so it might not be the best choice if you’re sticking to a tight budget.

However, I do think that the Momcozy V1 offers a lot of value, especially when it comes to its high-end functionality. For me, I think the adjustable pumping frequency levels, adjustable timer, huge battery life, hospital grade suctions, and 15 suction levels are all premium features that justify the price.

You also get some nice inclusions like the additional flange insert sizes and spare valves.

When you purchase a Momcozy V1 Pro breast pump, included in your kit is:

What I Wish Was Different

While the Momcozy V1 Pro has many strengths, there are a few things I’d like to see improved.

Unfortunately, the parts are not dishwasher-safe, so cleaning involves a bit of extra effort. You need to wash them in warm, soapy water and then boil the parts for five minutes to sterilize. They’re also not suitable for microwave or UV sterilizers, so that’s something to keep in mind if convenience in cleaning is a priority.

As I mentioned previously, the Momcozy V1 Pro doesn’t connect to the Momcozy app. If app integration and tracking are important to you, you might want to consider the Momcozy M9 or see how the two compare in my Momcozy M9 vs V1 Pro breakdown.

I love that there is additional flange inserts included in the kit. Unfortunately, if you require a flange larger than the 24mm you will need to purchase this separately. Again, if you are a nipple size smaller than 17mm. For most breastfeeding mothers, this won’t be an issue, but just something to keep in mind.

The Verdict

The Momcozy V1 Pro gets a big thumbs up from me!

From the adjustable pumping frequency levels to adjustable timer, I love this pump for its impressive suction strength and the control it gives you over your pumping session.

Couple the powerful, hospital grade suction with the extended battery life and thoughtful inclusions, it is hard to fault the Momcozy V1 Pro.

Unless you’re specifically looking for an all-in-one wearable design or app integration, I think the Momcozy V1 Pro is certainly worth considering. If you’re still comparing your options, don’t miss my Best Momcozy Pump comparison for a full breakdown of the entire range.
