The Momcozy S9 Pro and Momcozy S12 Pro are both highly popular wearable breast pumps that are lightweight, hands-free, and provide effective pumping at a lower price.
That said, there are some big differences between the Momcozy S9 pro and S12 Pro wearable breast pumps. I strongly believe that knowing these differences is going to help your decision process when choosing between these two pumps.
With that in mind, here I’ll be discussing the features, pros, and cons of both the Momcozy S9 Pro and the Momcozy S12 Pro models, so you can easily decide which pump is the best choice for you.

Similarities And Differences
Momcozy have created the S9 Pro and S12 Pro as variations on the same base model.
Whilst they don’t come with as many bells and whistles to that of the Momcozy M5 and Momcozy Mobile Style pumps, they are definitely worthy of consideration. Especially given they are the two most affordable pumps in the Momcozy wearable breast pump range.
But what’s the difference between these two pumps? And which one should you choose?
Let’s take a look, with my Momcozy S9 Pro vs S12 Pro comparison!

Pump Design
Both the S9 Pro and S12 Pro are very similar in design. They are both wearable, closed systems, and have no tubing or wires that connect it to its motor.
With both pumps the motor sits on top of the collection cup. I think having the pump motor sitting on the top of the collection cup makes the pumps slightly less discreet than an all-in-one pump like the Momcozy M5 or Lumbi L1.
There is some design difference in the shape of the pump motors, but this is only minor.

Flange Design
When it comes to flange design, S12 Pro breast pump shines with its Momcozy DoubleFit Flange. This feature acts as a breast cushion on your flange and is designed to provide a snug and comfy hug around the breast during pumping. This has two main benefits, comfort and preventing leaks, so moms can pump with confidence.
The S9 Pro has a standard flange design, without the additional cushioning.

Pumping Modes And Suction Levels
One of the standout differences between the S12 Pro and S9 Pro is the number of modes on offer.
Whilst both the Momcozy S9 and S12 Pro come with 9 levels of intensity, the Momcozy S9 Pro only comes with 2 modes; massage mode and expression mode.
The Momcozy S12 Pro on the other hand comes with a third mixed mode. This mixed mode is a combination of the short suctions that come with the massage mode and the longer suctions of the expression mode. I personally love having the option of the 3rd mode, as it simply gives you more opportunity to find a suction setting that your body responds well to.
Both pumps have an impressive suction strength up to 300mmHg.
Collection Cups
Both collection cups are identical with these two pumps. They have a large 6-ounce capacity.
I love that both pump containers also come with an easy to pour feature, so you end up with less spillage of your liquid gold!
Battery Life And Charging
The Momcozy S12 Pro has USB Type C fast charging and can be used for roughly 140 minutes after charging.
The biggest advantage here, is it only takes 1.5 hours for the S12 Pro to fully charge.
The S9 actually has larger battery capacity and can be used for roughly 180 minutes when fully charged. This can equate to 2 extra 20-minute pumping sessions.
However, unlike the S12 Pro, it takes around 2.5 hours to fully charge.

LED Screen
The most noticeable advantage of the Momcozy S12 Pro over the S9 Pro is the screen.
Both models include a LED screen, however the S12 Pro’s screen is larger, clearer, and more advanced.
The S12 Pro screen comes with an inbuilt timer, a huge plus in my books, so you can easily keep track of how long you’ve been pumping with no effort. The screen also helps you to easily monitor battery level, another task that is easy to forget!
The S9 has a LED screen, but it is very basic. It is still incredibly easy to use. With just a touch of a button, you can be pumping comfortably. But you need to make sure to monitor your start times and levels, because the pump won’t do it for you.
Portability
What I love about the S12 Pro and S9 Pro breast pumps is that they are both wearable, so both are extremely portable by design.
Yet, other than the extended battery life of the S9 Pro and quick recharging of the S12 Pro, none of these pumps particularly stand out in terms of portability for a wearable pump.
There are no additional features included such as a carry case.
Noise
The Momcozy S9 and S12 have a similar noise range at less than 50 dB.
Price And Value For Money
The S12 Pro is an upgrade on the S9 Pro, with its additional mode and advanced LED screen, so you’re probably not surprised the Momcozy S12 Pro is the more expensive of the two pumps.
But given there are now newer Momcozy pumps in the range such as the Momcozy Mobile Style and Momcozy V2, there price difference between the S9 Pro and S12 Pro is now pretty minimal.
Given the minimal price difference between the two pumps, I do think the S12 Pro provides more value given the greater control over your pumping session and additional comfort with the DoubleFit Flange, especially if you’re pumping on a regular basis.
The Verdict
The Momcozy S12 Pro is an upgrade on the popular S9 Pro.
In my opinion, they are both have a very similar base design. Both are portable and offer powerful suction, however for me the S12 Pro adds a few more features to make the overall experience better.
The S12 has an additional mixed mode for a better tailored pumping experience, a DoubleFit Flange for increased comfort and suction, a quick recharge, and a larger LED screen that allows you to keep track of pumping.
But, the Momcozy S12 Pro is slightly more expensive, and the battery life is lacking in contrast to the S9 Pro. So, I think for moms on a tight budget, the S9 Pro is still a good option.
Ultimately, I think the decision between the Momcozy S9 Pro and S12 Pro hinges on personal preferences.
If you’re looking for a part-time pump that focuses on output, comfort, and convenience, then I think the Momcozy S12 Pro is an excellent choice.
If budget is a key part of your decision, then I think with its longer battery life and lower price point that the Momcozy S9 Pro is for you.
