If you’re using a second-hand Momcozy V2 Pro pump, I recommend replacing parts like the valves, flanges, and any flange inserts that are compatible with the pump.
While buying new valves and flanges might add a little to your expenses, I’ve found it’s crucial for keeping the pump clean and working efficiently during every session. Plus you never really know how the previous owner cleaned or maintained the pump before you.
Another key feature I always make sure to let people know is to make sure you use the right flange size for your nipple size. This can make a big difference in comfort and milk flow. The Momcozy V2 Pro includes a nipple ruler, so it makes it super easy to measure your correct size. The V2 Pro also comes with a standard 24mm flange along with 17mm, 19mm, and 21mm inserts in the kit. If none of these fit you, you’ll need to order the correct size flange or additional inserts separately.
Momcozy V2 Pro Components
One thing I really love about the Momcozy V2 Pro is how simple it is to set up and use, thanks to its minimal parts. Here’s a quick breakdown of what’s included:
Pump Motor
The motor is ultralight and compact yet powerful, generating the suction you need for efficient pumping. I love that it has a built-in LED screen right on the top, keeping everything user-friendly and easy to access.
Teardrop-Shaped Collection Cups
These cups are where the expressed milk is collected, and they can hold over 7oz of milk. What’s great about the Momcozy V2 Pro is that the collection cups come with an attached diaphragm (which isn’t removable). These are the same collection cups used across the Momcozy V Pro pump range.
Tubing
The V2 Pro includes two tubing options: single and double. Both come with connectors to attach the motor to the collection cups, giving you flexibility depending on whether you’re pumping one breast or both.
Silicone Flange
The flange is the part that fits over your breast, and the V2 Pro includes a 24mm flange size as standard. It also comes with flange inserts in 17mm, 19mm, and 21mm sizes to accommodate smaller nipples. I always recommend choosing the right flange size for comfort and efficient milk extraction. On this pump, the flange includes an attached linker for easy assembly.
Valve
The valve plays a key role in controlling milk flow into the collection cup and preventing any backflow, keeping your milk safely separated from the motor.
Charging Cable
The pump includes a fast-charging USB-C charging cable which I think is a big plus. The USB charging makes the V2 Pro super convenient to recharge on the go or whilst travelling.

Assembly
The great thing about the Momcozy V2 Pro is how simple it is to put together, and with a bit of practice, it becomes second nature.
Here’s my step-by-step guide to help you assemble your Momcozy V2 Pro:
Step 1
Before getting started, make sure all parts that come into contact with breast milk, such as the collection cups, valves, flanges, and flange inserts, have been sterilized.
Don’t forget to wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water to keep everything clean and safe.
Step 2
Take the silicone duckbill valve and attach it securely to the base of the connector. I like to give it a firm push to ensure it’s properly in place and ready to use.

Step 3
Attach the flange to the main body of the collection cup.
Look for the silicone tab at the top of the flange and align it with the pouring spout on the collection cup. Once aligned, press the flange and cup firmly together. I like to go around the rim with my thumbs to double-check for a secure seal.

Step 4
Next, insert the silicone pouring spout cap into the pouring spout. Make sure it’s pushed in all the way and firmly in place.

Step 5
Now, connect the tubing to the collection cup.
Decide whether you’ll be single or double pumping. For single pumping, use the tubing with a single connector. For double pumping, use the tubing with dual connectors, which are split by the white Y-shaped piece.
On the round tubing connector, locate the grey dot as this indicates the top. Align it with the opening on the collection cup above the diaphragm and press until you hear a ‘click.’ If you’re double pumping, repeat this step for the second collection cup.

Step 6
Connect the tubing to the pump motor by inserting the white tubing connector into the port located at the bottom of the motor.

Step 7
To turn on your Momcozy V2 Pro pump by pressing the power button. The LCD screen will light up, indicating the pump is ready to use.
Now before you start pumping, I recommend you take a moment to familiarize yourself with the pump’s controls, including the suction levels and mode settings. I think this is really beneficial to help you customize your session for maximum comfort and efficiency.
Momcozy V2 Pro Control Panel
The Momcozy V2 Pro features four buttons and an LED screen to help you manage your pumping sessions with ease. Here’s a closer look at the controls:
Power Button
- Use this to turn the pump on or off. Simply press and hold the power button for 3 seconds. The LED screen will light up to let you know it’s on.
- You can also press this button, without holding, to activate the pause option. To deactivate the pause option simply press the power button again and your session will resume.
Pumping Modes
The Momcozy V2 Pro offers three versatile modes to suit your pumping needs:
- Stimulation Mode: Designed for letdown with quick, light suction.
- Expression Mode: Focused on milk removal with stronger, slower suction.
- Mixed Mode: Combines short and long suctions for balanced pumping.
The current mode is displayed at the top of the LED screen with clear icons:
- A heart icon for Stimulation Mode.
- A single droplet for Expression Mode.
- Both the heart and droplet for Mixed Mode.
To switch between modes, use the arrow button at the bottom of the control panel. It’s intuitive and simple, letting you adjust as needed during your session.

Suction Level
The Momcozy V2 Pro makes it easy to customize suction levels for comfort and effective milk expression.
- The current suction level is displayed on the screen as L followed by a number, indicating your selected intensity.
- Use the + button to increase suction or the – button to decrease it until you find the perfect level for your needs.
Timer
If you’ve watched any of my Pumping Milk Youtube videos or read any of my breast pump reviews, you’ll know I one of my favorite features is an inbuilt timer! I think they are just so handy! And thankfully the V2 Pro comes with its own, simple built-in timer.
- After 15 seconds of pumping, the timer activates automatically.
- It is displayed in seconds up and till the 60 second mark, when it then counts up in minutes.
Battery Status
The pump’s battery life is conveniently displayed with three white bars:
- A fully charged pump shows three bars.
- A low battery is indicated by a blinking bar, so you’ll know when it’s time to recharge.
Error Messages
The LED screen is also equipped to alert you to any issues.
- Error messages will pop up for problems like a blocked tube or a low battery, helping you troubleshoot quickly.
Screen Light
For added discretion, the screen light automatically turns off after 60 seconds of inactivity.
- If you need to check the screen again, simply press any button to reactivate it.
Using the Momcozy V2 Pro
Once you’re ready to start pumping with the Momcozy V2, you’ll be happy to know the process is quite simple. Here’s a step-by-step guide to get you going:
Step 1: Wash Your Hands
Start by thoroughly washing your hands with soap and water to maintain cleanliness.
Step 2: Assemble the Pump
Next ensure all pump parts are sterilized and correctly assembled, using the instructions above, before use.
Step 3: Position the Flange
Place the flange (and insert, if needed) over your breast, making sure your nipple is centred and moves freely inside the shield. Gently press the flange against your breast to create a good seal.

Step 4: Adjust Your Pumping Bra
The Momcozy V2 cups are design to be hands-free, but you’ll need a well fitted pumping bra to hold them in place. I recommend a stretchy, well-fitted pumping bra that’s not too tight and not too loose.
So, once you have your flanges in place, secure them with your pumping bra, making sure it fits snugly.
Step 5: Turn On the Pump
Power on your Momcozy V2 Pro by holding down the power button. The LED screen will light up, showing the current settings.
Just as a note, your V2 Pro has a memory function so will retain your last settings. You may need to change these settings at the start of your new pumping session.
Step 6: Select Your Pumping Mode and Suction Level
Start with massage mode to stimulate letdown. A level 2 or 3 for the first two minutes is a good place to begin.
Once your milk starts flowing, switch to expression or mixed mode for efficient milk removal. Again, start with a low suction setting and slowly increase it until you find a comfortable and effective level.
You should feel a gentle pull, not pain. Use these modes for about 15 to 20 minutes or as needed.
Step 7: Secure Your Pump Motor
With the Momcozy V2 you have a few options to secure your pump motor, other than just holding in in your hand or placing it next to you.
One option is to you the adjustable lanyard to hang it around your neck or wrist and the other option is to use the clip on the back of the pump to secure the pump to your belt or clothing.
Step 8: Monitor Your Session
Keep an eye on your milk flow and pump performance throughout the session to troubleshoot any issues, like low output or weak suction.
Step 9: Turn Off the Pump
When you’re done, press the power button to turn off the pump.
Step 10: Remove the Pump
Gently break the seal between the flange and your breast with your fingers, then tilt forward slightly to remove the pump without spilling.
Step 11: Milk Storage
Open the silicone pouring spout lid, located at the top of your collection cups, and pour your breast milk into a storage container of your choosing.
If you are new to breast milk storage, I highly recommend checking out my how to store breast milk guide.
I love with the Momcozy V2 Pro you also have the option to pump directly into a milk storage bag when you use the Momcozy Milk Bag Combo.
Step 12: Clean Your Pump
After each session, wash all parts that come into contact with milk to maintain hygiene. Sterilize your pump at least once a day. Your pump motor and tubing do not come in contact with breast milk.
Step 13: Check Battery Levels
Before storing, check the battery life. If it’s low, plug it in to recharge so it’s ready for next time. The charging port is located at the back of the motor.
Step 14: Store the Pump
After cleaning, use the flange covers to protect the flanges and store in a clean, dry location, so it’s ready for your next use.
Momcozy V2 Pro Replacement Parts
Over time, some parts of your Momcozy V2 Pro breast pump may require replacement to keep it running smoothly and effectively.
If you’re noticing reduced suction or a drop in milk output, it’s a good idea to check your pump’s parts for any wear, damage, or stretching particularly in the silicone components.
Momcozy suggests replacing silicone parts, like valves and diaphragms, every 1-3 months, depending on how often you use the pump. Other components should be replaced as needed based on visible wear.

Troubleshooting Common Issues with the Momcozy V2 Pro
Here are some common challenges you might encounter with the Momcozy V2 Pro breast pump, along with some of my practical tips to keep your pump working smoothly:
Loss of Suction
Cause: Low suction is often caused by loose connections, worn-out parts, or improper assembly of components like flanges or valves.
Solution:
- Ensure all parts are securely connected and properly assembled.
- Check for wear and tear on silicone parts, especially valves and diaphragms. Replace any damaged or worn components to restore optimal suction.
Pump Won’t Turn On
Cause: This could be due to a drained battery or a faulty charging cable.
Solution:
- Fully charge the pump and double-check the connection to the USB-C charging cable.
- Inspect the charging port and cable for any signs of damage. If the issue persists, consider replacing the cable.
Milk Leakage
Cause: Leaks can happen if the flange isn’t properly positioned, the collection cups are overfilled, or the pouring spout cap isn’t secure.
Solution:
- Ensure the flange is centred correctly over your nipple to create a tight seal.
- Avoid overfilling the collection cups past the recommended 7oz capacity.
- When removing the pump, lean slightly forward to prevent spills and check that the pouring spout cap is firmly in place.
Discomfort During Pumping
Cause: Discomfort is often due to using the wrong flange size or setting the suction level too high.
Solution:
- Make sure you’re using the correct flange size for your nipple to avoid discomfort or pinching.
- Start with a lower suction level and increase gradually to find a comfortable intensity.
Pump Shuts Off Unexpectedly
Cause: The V2 Pro has an automatic shut-off after 30 minutes, but sudden shutdowns can occur if the battery is low or parts aren’t securely connected.
Solution:
- Check the battery status on the LED screen to ensure it’s charged.
- Confirm that all parts are properly assembled and securely connected.
- If the issue continues, contact Momcozy’s customer support for assistance.
